Prevented planting resources

While initially published in 2020, this article has resources to help people to best figure out the dollars and cents of several less-than-ideal options now that Mother Nature has delayed planting progress so significantly, including: planting after the final RMA planting date, prevent plant, planting a crop other than the one originally intended for a field and planting after the late planting window has closed. For northwest Minnesota, wet conditions and cool soil temperatures have delayed planting. Farmers with federal crop insurance who have been unable to plant by the final planting date still have options.
