Face the 2018 crop year armed with the latest University of Minnesota research. At the 2018 University of Minnesota Research Update for Ag Professionals, you will find research-based strategies to deal with today's changing pests, diseases, varieties, and nutrient and environmental recommendations. Presentations and discussions at the update will allow you to visit with experienced university researchers and offer you the opportunity to visit with colleagues to discuss topics of interest to you in your region. You will leave with research-based knowledge and field-tested solutions that will help you in the field for the year 2018.

The program will be held in Crookston on Thursday, January 11 from 12:30 pm to 4:40 pm. at the Northwestern Research & Outreach Center Auditorium (2900 University Ave.; phone: (218) 281-8602).  

The registration fee is $60 and on-site registration will begin at 11:30 am. Online registration (www.extension.umn.edu/agriculture/ag-professionals/research-updates) is open until midnight on Wednesday, January 10. 

Continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors have been applied for including: 1 in nutrient management, 3 in pest management and 1 in crop management.

·         Soybean aphid: Population dynamics, pyrethroid resistance and developing management strategies – Dr. Phillip Glogoza

·         Small grains disease management toolbox – Dr. Madeleine Smith

·         Small grain variety update – Dr. Jochum Wiersma

·         What's the scoop on potassium research in western Minnesota – Dr. Daniel Kaiser
