The successful applicant for the Crookston IPM internship will:
1) Build relationships and networks in the agricultural and IPM fields via weekly mentoring by an experienced Extension Educator (EE),2) Assist with educational programs, making them accessible/inviting to participants,
3) Develop/deliver relevant educational communications through print & radio,
4) Have time to attend at least two educational events (field days, conferences) within Minnesota, to enhance the educational component of the internship, and,
5) Complete an educational project that cultivates professional development, for example:
- Work with EE on researching pest management topics, creating needs assessments, developing curricula, conducting focus groups or creating educational pieces for media to support program development.
- Correspond with presenters, farmers, non-profits, agency staff, EEs and Extension Specialists through email, mail and phone.
- Foster and strengthen local relationships with stakeholders, agencies and organizations that support work in communities.
Assist with event logistics and marketing for educational events.
Assist with on-farm research, sampling, site visits and assessments.
