Northern leg of the UMN small grains summer plot tours
Most crop producers in northwest Minnesota grow small grains. If you are a small grains producer or just a curious person that would like to understand more about some of the major crops in the rural landscape, join faculty from University of Minnesota at one of the four northern small grains plot tour events:- July 9 - at 9 AM at the John Walkup Farm near Fergus Falls (GPS coordinates: 46.064802, -96.174936), coffee and rolls will be served
- July 10 - at 9 AM at the Swenson Seed Farm near Oklee (GPS coordinates: 47.776605, -95.848971), coffee and rolls will be served
- July 11 - 9 AM at the Neil and Mark Wiese Farm near Humboldt (GPS coordinates: 48.910487, -97.127943), coffee and rolls will be served
- July 11 - at 1 PM at the Jim Kukowski Farm near Strathcona (GPS coordinates: 48.572373, -96.157484), lunch will be served at noon before the tour

Northwest Research & Outreach Center Crops & Soils Day
Save the date for the Crops & Soils Day at the Northwest Research and Outreach Center in Crookston on Wednesday, July 17, 2019.Wagons will load at 8:15 AM for the morning small grains (and soybean) tours. There will be a coffee/water break at 10 AM, complimentary lunch around noon. Sugar beet topics will follow lunch.
