According to the Midwest Regional Climate Center, in northwest Minnesota the majority of the days in May's first 14 days had daily low temperatures below freezing (Figure). But the real worries were related to the spring wheat, sugar beet and corn seeding that took place in some fields and the wheat and sugar beet seedlings that had just begun to emerge.
